Concept and History
"Gagà" is the Italian equivalent of a "Dandy" or gentleman, a term that completely revolutionized the definition of an Italian "gentleman" in the early decades of the 20th century. It represents a man with his own style who does not follow the crowd. He is elegant, refined, attentive to detail, different from the masses, and admired by others.
Going back to Italy in the 1920s, the Gagà style was uniquely recognizable, with an emphasis on detailed dressing; an essential accessory was the pocket watch.
Over the years, the Gagà style inspired generations of men, including Ruben Tomella, a young artist who was excited by custom-tailored double-breasted suits from an early age.
Focusing on the only true male accessory, he had a simple yet brilliant idea: to take the pocket watch from the past and find a solution to make it possible to "wear it on the wrist."
He welded four majestic lugs onto the pocket watch his grandfather had given him and created a custom strap, subsequently conceiving the idea of creating a series of genuine timepieces. Unlike traditional wristwatches, the crown remains at the 12 o'clock position, and the movement is manual winding.
We arrive at 2004; starting from a once-popular object, the "Manuale" hand-wound mechanical watch by "Gagà Milano" was born, a timepiece destined to make history.
Today, Gaga Milano offers both men's watches and women's watches, as well as various collaboration series.
